Further information on ownership
Much of the following
page relates to golf and even if you are not golfers, it is
relevant to the overall value of Manor Court. We have many
non golfing members who enjoy all the attractions of the Dartmoor
National Park and the many National Trust properties in the
area.
The Manor Court
Club was established in conjunction with British Transport
Hotels when they owned the Manor House Hotel, Moretonhampstead,
a worthy sister hotel to the famous golfing hotels, Gleneagles
and Turnberry. The Club cottages lie in the centre of the
270 beautifully landscaped acres of the renowned Bovey Castle
championship golf course. However, the Manor Court Club is
totally independent of the hotel.
The golfing delights
of Manor Court have perhaps been little known, but that is
now changing, in that the Hotel, reopened as Bovey Castle,
and the golf course have been upgraded to 5 star plus standards
by Peter de Savary, creator of Skibo Castle in Scotland. The
extensive work on the golf course under the direction of top
golf course architects, Donald Steele and Partners, was quite
exceptional and certainly in line with the objective of creating
one of the best courses in the UK.
We have a limited
number of weeks available now and are prepared to facilitate
membership of the Manor Court Club by taking weeks at other
resorts in part-exchange. We wish to encourage primarily those
who would enjoy the Club and the company of existing members.
Whilst Manor Court is in great demand for RCI exchanges, most
owners enjoy using their weeks every year and the Club can
truly be described as your "ultimate timeshare".
Our prices range
from as little as £500 to £7,500 per week, depending on the
size of cottage and time of year.
Our annual management
charges compare very favourably with other
UK resorts.
A discerning club
membership reflects the philosophy of Manor Court from the
outset; no signing of contracts or deposit requests on the
first visit has been the rule here for over two decades, not
a recent introduction because of EU regulation. Most, but
by no means all, of our members are golfers and share in the
delight of playing this most sociable of games over an established
course of extraordinary variety and interest.
